Twp of Brick, NJ

I have created this site with hope that it will do some good.

I have grown up around the shore area for most of my life and
watched many changes take place over the years.
For the most part it was for the good.

Lately though I have been extremely disappointed in little or no action taken by the residents/business owners of Brick who have fallen victim to the vandals who choose to vandalize the properties within the township, or fail to keep up their properties in general. Not one person should need to wait for someone to make a complaint to bring it to their attention.

I drive in Brick everyday and as time goes on, I see the deterioration starting to set in. 10 or 15 years from now I do not want to see Brick in the condition of some of NJ's worst cities are in today. There are properties that have graffiti on them in plain site, and I feel it is long over due for putting these people on notice to have it cleaned up.

The warm weather is finally here and no better time to get this township back where it should be.

So here is what I decided to do.

Just in my normal everyday travels, if something catches my eye that degrades the image of Brick, I have decided to get an image of it.

These images will be posted here, and as I see the properties getting cleaned up, I will remove the image from the site. I hope to one day have nothing but nice photos of Brick displayed here.

For the sake of Brick and its residents, I sure hope this works.

Being the number one Safest City in America is nice, but is it asking too much to have it Clean too?

It's been a while since I have updated this Blog but that doesn't mean I haven't been keeping an eye on Brick.

It seems maybe someone liked this idea so much that they took it to a whole new level.
I am not sure if they knew of my Blog or it was just coincidental but the website these people put together 6 months after I started my Blog makes it far more easier for everyday citizens to make a complaint to the town and the issues they are facing.

Congrats to them on a job well done with their website.

That doesn't mean I will stop posting images. I still feel that gets a lot of attention and the issues corrected.

Well, at least most of the time.

I did a drive by of some the areas I sent complaints in about and unfortunately there are a few still pending after all this time... UGGH !!!

Time to submit them again !

Signage on Cornell Dr

Unfortunately this sign was missed by the crew that had replaced the signage at the rotory on the corner of Cornell Dr and Bryn Mawr Dr.
This particular sign is located on Cornell Dr between ELI Place and Bryn Mawr Dr.

No Photo, but the Twp clearly will not miss the mess on the Traffic Light Switch Boxes.

Hope they get the DOT to repaint it soon !

Signage on Bryn Mawr Go Clockwise ???

Perhaps I shouldn't put this one in for replacement being as my vehicle has a difficult time making it around these islands and it is so much easier to go clockwise when wanting to make a left turn onto Cornell from Bryn Mawr...

Boston Chicken Brick Blvd Power Transformer

This Power Transformer has been like this for some time now.

I also noticed the Strip Mall's rear wall was tagged recently, but I would like to thank the people responsible for removing it so quickly. So quick, it didn't even need to be reported by me. :)

Now let's get the Transformer cleaned up !

Drum Pt Sports Complex

Update: TCSA Building was cleaned up the last time I was there.

The Sports Complex was reported back on July 7th, 2007.

It is now 10 months later and nothing has been done by the owners "Twin County Soccer Assc." ???
As the sign clearly states on the rear door of the building.

Fortunately other areas of the Complex have been cleaned up.

let's hope this building is done soon.

Owners quickly complied with the Property Maintenance Code upon notification.

There made their repairs in a quick and timely manner...

UPDATE: 515 Hwy 70 East

A huge thanks goes out to the property owners of 515 Hwy 70. I was thrilled to see their efforts on the clean up was put into action so quickly.

UPDATE: Country Farms on Drum Pt Rd & Adamston Rd

This business has not complied with Brick's Property Maintenance Code for over 1 year. How much is that going to net Brick in fines from them for failing to make the needed repairs in a timely manner ???

UPDATE: 5/10/2008

I was pleased to see the other day that the business finally had cleaned up the building. In my opinion, it was way long over due and hopefully the township was able to collect fines to help offset Brick's Property Taxes.

After 11 months from the 1st complaint, this Plaza has finally cleaned up their property.

Rear retaining walls have been repainted and cleaned up.

We had an incredible response time from the closed gas station after posting the information. In just the matter of a few days the building has been cleaned up.

Update: VFW Adamston Rd

Thank you for whoever was responsible for the fresh paint job on the storage trailer at the rear of the VFW on Admaston Rd.

Update: Princeton Ave

After reporting this area back in March, I found that in June these items were never addressed, therefore I took matters into my own hands. Less than five minutes, a can of brake cleaner and some paper towels, the graffiti was removed from both signs.

Update: Brake-O-Rama

As of June 5th, Brake-O-Rama has cleaned up the graffiti on the side of their building.
Thank you once again to the Brick Code Enforcement for following up on this matter.
